Random Irrelevant Music Notes

I was listening to the radio last night and Bad Company's "Feel Like Makin' Love" came on. I thought, "Geez, Creed's 'Higher' is just a rewrite of this."

These are the sort of things that distract me when I'm driving.

Someone sent this to a listserv I am on. Mark E. Smith taking the stage with some of his heroes, strange 1960's band The Monks.

Hasta la proxima. Do zobaczenia.

Comments:
I'm sorry, did you just say "Creed"?
Jeez, Ted, I thought we had something special....

I have never heard of any of these bands.

Very funny Tom.

Oh and Ted, what is the name of the album with I Hate You on it?

The Monks only released one studio album, Black Monk Time. The two later albums, released decades later, were a live album and a remastered and retitled version of Black Monk Time. So, that is the album where you would find "I Hate You."

The Fall covered the song on 1991's Extricate under the title "Black Monk Theme pt. 1." "Black Monk Theme pt. 2" was a cover of "Oh, How to Do Now." A friend turned Mark E. Smith on to the Monks, but Smith didn't know the titles of the two songs at the time. The Fall also later covered "Shut Up!"

Something I find kind of weird, the guy I am currently dating actually knows some of the lyrics in German to I Hate You. The reason this is weird is 1. that is a really obsecure song and 2. he is from India. Funny how these things travel.
