New England Revolution v DC United

The game is tommorrow at 4:30. This means no inane phone calls, unless you are planning to come over with munchies.

I've been reading the prepatory excuses on the DC United board on Big Soccer. Their first is that the referee slated for tommorrow's game, Jair Marufo, hates United. Well, everyone does. This doesn't mean he can't be fair.


They actually have a somewhat clever idea for a banner. DC fans consider making fun of the size of Taylor Twellman's head excedingly clever, but they do have one idea that stings a bit. Pat Noonan is off to Germany for hernia surgery, so they are suggesting a banner making fun of Twellman being left off of the world cup squad:
Hey Taylor, even Noonan is going to Germany
Ouch.

United fans can poke fun because their team had a grand total of one player on the World Cup team...and didn't Ben Olsen do so well over there?

How about this one:
Hey Adu, Noonan is injured and even he gets to go to Germany.

My prediction: New England 3 - DC United 1. Goals by José Manuel Abundis, Clint Dempsey and by Khano Smith coming off of the bench. I have no really good reason to make this prediction, 'cept I have a blog and I'm allowed.


Oh yeah...Wheelie awards tonight. I submitted my ballot...did you?

See, it is that sort of apathy that is bringing America down.

correct response:

"Last May called, it wants its joke back."

(unless this is supposed to be a reference to an offer for Twellman by a German team getting shot down in August, but that would require attention to Rev rumors DC fans wouldn't spare)
