Yesterday, I had my first chance to take a longer than normal lunch in a while. I went over to Lindy's, but forgot they are closed on Mondays. I went over to Taco Centro, but they were closed for rennovations or a vacation, I dunno. What did I end up eating? Big Mac.


But that isn't the interesting part. Along the way, I ran into Barbicide, who read my post about the great refereeing controversy. She liked what I wrote, but took issue with a couple of things.

So, why the heck didn't she post a comment? Sheesh!

Anyway, Barb (her real name, I know her last name too, but what fun is that?) had trouble with my characterization of the fisticuffs between her and, uh, Fisti Cuffs. She said that she had acutally tried to force Fisti into a fight so that she would get ejected, preventing FTW from scoring on that jam. That would be good gamesmanship on her part.

Also, she told me that the jam had actually been called off by the refs. I don't remember it the same way, but it would explain why Vice Squad was unable to use the fact that so many FTW members had been ejected to mount a comeback, which could have happened at that point.


This is one of the things that makes Tucson Roller Derby cool. Here I can write about the players, and they respond in person. Never once has Clint Dempsey talked to me. Or Brandi Chastain, for that matter.


By the way, Jezebelle Jonez has announced the line-up for the Saddletramps, the TRD travel squad. There will be an inter-squad bout (I've been told not to call it a scrimmage) on October 21st. Some of them have not adopted new Saddletramps names yet, but Peaches Rodriguez has said she is leaning towards "Liberty Valenzuela."
