World Cup Final
Yeah, keep celebrating guys, because most of your clubs are about to get demoted to Serie C.
For those of you who don't know, four Italian teams, Juventus, AC Milan, ACF Fiorentina and SS Lazio are up for sanctions for a match fixing scandal. These sanctions could include relegation to a lower division. This would be the equivalent of the Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, Detroit Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals all being told that they are going to be AA teams next season. Not AAA, but AA. Players from Juventus formed the bulk of the Italian team.
The only thing that would make it perfect for me would be if Internazionale got stung too. I'll just settle for Silvio Berlusconi's current indictment in an unrelated scandal.
Zinédine Yazzid Zidane. What the heck happened there? I saw that the Italian player was holding him before the head butting incident. The head butting was unjustified, but reports are floating that Marco Materazzi may have thrown a racial slur in Zindane's direction (Zidane is of Algerian descent and a Muslim)
I know, racism among Italian footballers, whodathunkit?
