Clint Dempsey effin' rawks...despite his not having added me to his myspace. Taylor Twellman did...

Dempsey had the lone and winning goal. How many did Golden Boy Landon Donovan have? About as many as I did. Looks like Twellman's chances of going to Germany are getting better and better.

In other soccer news: Spike TV will be having a new show called Pros vs Joes. It starts on Monday. In it, weekend athletes who think that they are hot stuff will go up against recently retired professionals. It would be nice to see egomaniacal wanna-be jocks get theirs, 'cept it will be at the hands of bigger egomaniacs.

Alexi Lalas and Brandi Chastain will be featured on a few episodes. I'd like to see some jackass smoked by Chastain. Not only is she nearly forty, but she's "just some chick." That's gotta embarass them.

When I used to do pick-up games at Bladeworld, it always made me laugh. These guys in their early 20's never wanted the women to play on their team. And when they did end up on their team, they'd never pass to them. Funny thing is, these guys maybe played in high school, and these women were often on break from playing at Division 1 colleges, the older ones were former Sonoran Thunder players. It was funny watching these guys get taken apart by them. I loved playing on their teams. They'd at least pass to me once in a while.
