Clint Dempsey Hip-Hop Video

Revolution player Clint Dempsey is staring in a music video that Nike put together called "Don't Tread." It's part of a larger "Don't Tread on Me" campaign for the US Nats in the run up to the World Cup.

It isn't as lame as it could be. They song, done with Houston area rappers Big Hawk and XO, talks a little bit about how Dempsey grew up. I know, US Soccer and Nike pushing a working class kid, whodathunk it? It's a far cry from the image of the sport as the province of upper middle class white suburban kids.

The video also features fellow Rev Daniel Hernandez, who really looks like Dempsey's Latino brother anyway.

And yes, Nike sucks.

I can put this up because the Calexico video has been pushed off.

So...better or worse than the music Alexi Lalas was making when he was a Rev? Anybody remember that?

Hasta la proxima. Do zobaczenia.

Comments:
I remember the Disney Gummi Bears. They were so cool...just drink this magic potion and they were like rubber!

Oh wait what was the topic again?
