More Pictures from the Club Congress 20th Anniversary
So, the list of bands included this woman named Pieta Brown. I had no idea who she was. Then I find out that she was a grad student at the U of A at one point (a stay that doesn't rate a mention on her bio), then moved back to Iowa and became a singer (like her dad.) So, in other words, she was never a Tucson musician. So, Club Congress invited a woman who was never part of the "local scene," but couldn't see fit to invite The Host or The Fells.

The man with the Sinclair hat is Joey Burns from Calexico. I didn't recognize him right away. Somehow, I missed them when they played. I didn't realize this until I was walking out to my car and they were coming back from their van after loading their equipment. It was one of those "I should have had a V8!" moments.
Chris Burroughs. Note that the drummer is Bruce Halper of the Sidewinders.
