So, the list of bands included this woman named
Pieta Brown. I had no idea who she was. Then I find out that she was a grad student at the
U of A at one point (a stay that doesn't rate a mention on her
bio), then moved back to Iowa and became a singer (like
her dad.) So, in other words, she was never a Tucson musician. So,
Club Congress invited a woman who was never part of the "local scene," but couldn't see fit to invite
The Host or
The Fells.
She was quite good though. Cute too. I'll forgive a lot for that.
The man with the
Sinclair hat is
Joey Burns from
Calexico. I didn't recognize him right away. Somehow, I missed them when they played. I didn't realize this until I was walking out to my car and they were coming back from their van after loading their equipment. It was one of those "I should have had a
V8!" moments.
Chris Burroughs. Note that the drummer is
Bruce Halper of the
Sidewinders.
