Hurricane Katrina Relief
Hotel Congress will be a benefit event to help out victims of Hurricane Katrina. Tonight, Giant Sand will be perfroming with Calexico (and their own former) drummer John Convertino. Tom Walbank, who made a point of collecting donations from all of us last weekend at the anniversary bash, will also be performing with his band, The Ambassadors.
That gets underway at 7:00 PM, with a suggested donation of $10.
Tommorrow night, also at Hotel Congress, is a "pep rally" for Tucson Roller Derby. The event, as always, will be a blast, but the rollergirls are asking for donations to help rollergirls in the gulf region, as well as to help those people from the region that are being resettled here. A list is available on their website of the items they would like you to donate.
The "Smack Rack" will be available. I think maybe we can get someone to wear a Michael Brown mask, and at least by proxy, give him what he deserves.
