Nice to be Wrong

I was wrong.
Clint Mathis had already been suspended for some shenanigans in a match with Chivas USA, and the Revs won by three goals. Even the unfairly derided Khano Smith scored.
I put up this picture of Clint Dempsey for Zoë Nystrom, who told me she likes him and now is fully indoctrinated as a Revs fan.

Dempsey had one of his great goal celebrations. After scoring, he hopped the barricade and grabbed the tricorn off of one of the re-enactors on the sidelines and danced some sort of jig. At least he isn't trying to rap anymore.

Los Angeles had its first "Road Victory" last night since April of 2004. I didn't misstype the year, they actually have not won a road game in that long. As a matter of fact, they weren't winning too many road games in the previous two seasons either.
Of course, it was a road game only because Chivas USA was technically the home team when they moved the game to the Los Angeles Colliseum. Is it really a road game when you haven't left your county?

The Chivas - América rivalry (El Super Clásico) is one of the biggest in North American sport, and is comparable to the great European rivalries like Liverpool - Man U, Real Madrid - Barcelona or Partizan - Red Star (okay, that one sucks). Think about Celtic - Rangers without the sectarian violence. Well, without the sectarian part anyway.
I was at a México - Yugoslavia match with Sen. Gabrielle Giffords (I love name dropping). This was a few years back, when there was a team called "Yugoslavia."
The Chivas and América fans would get into arguments, and even fights. And their teams were not even playing!
By the way, last night, Cuauhtemoc Blanco scored and Club América won 2-1. I hate Chivas.

Amado Guevara is tired of getting yellow cards and is going to leave the league. Boo effin hoo.

Hasta la proxima. Do zobaczenia.
