Got back to Phoenix Sunday night, and my car wouldn't start. It turns out, the starter had a short and completely drained one of the cells in the battery. This problem will end up costing me two weeks salary to fix. Maybe I should look into that job as a bag man for the mob.

They couldn't even look at my car until this morning. I informed them I didn't live in Phoenix, and would like to be able to get home. The woman I dealt with was nice enough, but they couldn't reschedule me.

Last year, I had to change out the battery because my car wouldn't start. The dealership told me that I couldn't get in for a week, so I changed it myself. I had to get to work somehow. They had a caniption about this. Now, they tell me that the battery was never covered under the waranty anyway. The starter would be, except that is only covered for the first 50,000 miles.

I, of course, passed that lovely milestone about a month and a half ago. Bastards.

I sort of wonder if that problem with the battery back then was from the same issue with the starter. If I had been able to bring it in then, it would have been under waranty. Once again: bastards.

I think I still get free oil changes though. I hope.


Just in case you all need more prodding in this area: United Airlines (NYSE: UAL) sucks. I wondered why they got rid of that "Fly the Friendly Skies" slogan; now I know. I am going to talk to an attorney and see what I can do to make them take my name off of their discount carrier. It is a horrible defamation of character.
